SDA Women assist CILIA Orphanage


The Women’s Ministries Department of the Sunyani North District of the Seventh Day Adventist, (SDA) church has donated items valued at GH ¢510.00 to the Compassion Is Love in Action Orphanage at Yawhimaa, near Sunyani.

The department also gave GH¢150.00 cash to the home.
The items include two bags of rice, one bag of sugar, three cartons of key soap, six cartons of milk, two gallons of cooking oil, three boxes of socks and used clothing.

The District Coordinator of the Women’s Ministries, Madam Lydia Abrefi said they were touched by the plight of the children and decided to assist them.
She added that as women, they have the responsibility to cater for all children to enable them grow up to realize their potentials. Madam Abrefi noted that children are very special assets to the society and they should be always assisted in all situations.

She added that Jesus Christ showed how children must be treated by allowing them to come to him always.
On her part, the Local Coordinator of the Women’s Ministries, Madam Esther Addae, assured the home that they would support the children with prayers at all times./


She commended the management of the home for the care they have given the children and asked for God’s blessing for them. She advised the children to be God fearing, obedient and   study well to enable them become responsible adults..


The manager of the home Nana Solomon Adu, thanked the women for assisting the home and urged other groups to do same. He said running the home is a huge task and such public assistance is very important.

The CEO of CILIA Orphanage, Rev. Mrs Charlotte Osei Kwarteng, commended the women for their gesture. She said their donation is an example of good christian mothers and appealed to other women’s groups in Sunyani to assist the home.
